Holy cow!  I can’t believe its already summer!! What’s happened since March??  First of all, we’ve changed our mind about a zillion times on how we want the day to go.  I think we’re almost there, but budgeting and coordinating are really nutso.  There should be people who do this thing for a living! (Groan.)

List o’ updates:

Wedding Dress: I met again with my wonderful seamstress Marie yesterday.  The only thing really usable from Mom’s dress is the lace.  So she found a really beautiful off-white fabric as the base and will drape the lace over the top and then swoop off to the side asymmetrically on the skirt part.  I go for a ‘mock up’ fitting in July.  I’m very excited.

Bridesmaids Dresses: Rachel was in town a few months ago and I tricked everyone into going to David’s Bridal.  They picked super cute (and comfortable!) dresses all in the shade of Cornflower.  Terrific.

Churchy stuff: John and I went to our Pre-Cana classes in April.  They were a lot of fun and really nice to have a day to just focus on each other and what life past the lace and the cakes will be like.   We’re also working on the whole dispensation thing as I’m Catholic and John is not.  So much paperwork!

Photographer: We found a wonderful NYU photography student to do the shooting.  We met with him last month and checked out the church and the reception place.  Contract has been sent off! So he’s ours!

Reception site: After much back and forth, we decided to get a larger tent for the back area of the Old Stone House.  It was the best way to the band play, but still have everyone have a seat and be able to mill around.   As we’ll probably be doing more heavy apps than a formal sit down dinner, there will be some tables, but mostly everyone can wander about and sit if they’d like.  So no seating assignments!!  Let the fights begin!

Catering: Still not done.  =(

Cake: Booked.  Its gonna rock.

Registry: Macy’s, Crate and Barrel, Pflasgrapf (sp?)

Honeymoon: We’re now looking at Napa Valley / San Francisco.  Still need to make all the arrangements.

Save the date emails: Went out

Wedding invitations draft: Done and sent out to a printer for a trial.  Aka John and I designed them.  And they will mortify every invitation designer.  We love them!

Knot Website: Update and finally got the guest list under control.  Ugh.

Okay! I think that’s the latest.  John’s in California right now.  Maybe I”ll have him add a thought or too.  Or update the actual List spreadsheet as I seemed to have not matched all the colors, etc.
